Skills Acquired During this Course
The child confidently writes in block letters, including words that are difficult for Russian-English bilinguals with soft consonants. They are comfortably able to distinguish voiced and unvoiced paired consonants, hard and soft consonants, are familiar with word and sentence structure, and are ready to engage purposefully in learning the language. The program is a unique development of LinguaPlay.
OBJECTIVES
To prepare the child for competent writing in Russian.
WHAT WE DO
- We reinforce the knowledge of vowel and consonant sounds and letters by analysing words and sentences
- We learn to indicate the soft consonant sounds in writing
- We learn to differentiate paired consonants, hard and soft consonants
- We write phonic dictations in block letters
- We transcribe words and sentences by ear
