From first sketches to full-scale productions
Our Drama Studio is a unique space where children and teenagers can immerse themselves in the magical world of theatre. We believe that theatre not only unlocks creative potential but also builds self-confidence, teaches teamwork, and fosters a deep understanding of both classical and contemporary literature. The programme grows with our students: starting with playful exercises for our youngest members, we gradually progress to staging major productions like Gogol’s “The Government Inspector” and Pushkin’s “The Queen of Spades” on the professional stages of London’s Greenwich Theatre and other London venues.
Please note: This course is conducted in the Russian language.
WHAT WE OFFER
- We develop acting skills for all ages through a comprehensive programme, beginning with the fundamentals of dramatic play for children aged 5+ and progressing to advanced work on character psychology, stage voice, and movement.
- Our classes adopt a professional approach to rehearsals, led by an experienced director and featuring in-depth text analysis, character development, and the study of theatre history to enrich each performance.
- We create full-scale productions with our senior students, turning the study of classics for the A-Level Russian exam into a major theatrical project with choreography, props, and premieres on a real stage.
- Our classes focus on the development of essential life skills, helping students build confidence for public speaking, learn effective teamwork, and boost their self-esteem.
- We foster a festive atmosphere and traditions by holding regular class showcases, where even our youngest actors can gain invaluable stage experience and bring joy to their audience.
OBJECTIVES
To develop the creative potential and acting skills of our students, guiding them on a fascinating journey from role-play to the deep embodiment of a character in a major theatrical production, while sparking their interest in classical literature and teamwork.
WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR
For children aged 5+ and teenagers. The programme is multi-level and adapted for beginners as well as experienced young actors preparing for exams and performances on the big stage.
How our classes work
Our programme is tailored to different age groups to ensure every child gains maximum benefit and enjoyment.
For the Junior Group (ages 5+) — fundamentals of dramatic play: In the rehearsal space, children discover their capabilities through play, working with their voice, the space, and their peers. Through simple exercises focused on movement, concentration, and interaction, we learn to speak and act out short scenes, embracing play as the foundation of theatre.
For the Senior Group — comprehensive production work:
- Text and plot — we conduct a thorough analysis of the text, its vocabulary, and concepts, tailored to the needs of bilingual students. Students work with character archetypes, learn to master intonation, and practice retelling and creatively adapting the material.
- Movement and speech — students learn to work with their voice, to listen to themselves and their partners, and to feel confident speaking in Russian. Through movement, we master the stage, overcome inhibitions, and explore different characters.
- Art and design analysis — we connect words with images by depicting characters and scenes from the text. Students not only create illustrations but also learn the basics of theatre model-making and costume design, exploring concepts of scale and materials.
